Well, when we are together we catch up right where we left off. It's like we just saw each other yesterday...and I love it! If I had to sum up our times together with one word, it would be laughter. I don't know what it is, but there are usually tears of laughter half way through our time together. Oh, how I love it and wish we could see each other more often. Hopefully, a trip to Utah later this year will be possible and we will get to capture more sweet moments filled with laughter. Love and hugs to you both!

Oh, how I love getting to see our clients time and time again. When you have the opportunity to shoot a wedding for a couple, a relationship develops that is hard to explain. You are with them on the biggest day of their lives...through the tears, the laughter, the joy, all of it. It is hard not to connect yourself with those moments, those people, and remember when.
Well, the icing on the cake is when you get to join them for the next chapter of their lives...parenthood. While the wedding is the part that brings them together, the child is what makes them a family. It is overwhelming to think that we are the lucky ones who get to capture these moments for so many. And, on top of that, the friendships that are developed will be savored for a lifetime.
As for the session, it was wonderful to be with John and Allyson...especially once the crazy thunderstorms moved out. ;) Avery is such a doll and we couldn't be happier for John and Allyson. Welcome to parenthood, you two! Much love to all 3 of you!
Oh Mel...why am I not surprised that I LOVE THEM ALL!!! :) Thanks so much for coming up to capture this beautiful time in our lives. Your patience with Avery was awe inspiring! ;) Blessings to you and your family.

(11.03.10 @ 05:13 PM)I apologize for my blogging delay! Baby Noah's mommy and daddy saw their gallery what seems like forever ago. There is so much to share it's crazy. Love me through the craziness... ;)

There is always a debate on whether or not a mommy-to-be should do maternity pictures. Believe me, I've been there, and know that there are points in a pregnancy where you just want to feel normal again. The thought of being in front of the camera is the last thing you want to do. Then there is the other side of the debate...capturing this moment when your body is performing quite the miracle. A miracle that is still amazing every time you watch your body transform and feel those little movements from within. A moment of time that you want to freeze and remember...even though you may not feel like your normal self.
Well, Clint and Emily had quite the plan with their maternity session. They are going to use a number of these pictures to display in their soon-to-be little girl's nursery. They will also be using them to remember this time that the two of them shared before their family began. Such a wonderful idea and I love the result. Oh, and Emily is striking in all of these...absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to meet your precious girl! Hugs to you both!
STUNNING pics, Mel! Best of luck to Emily & Clint with their beautiful family!
