Lauren and Joel were married on a peninsula off the coast of Alabama.  It was a quaint, little spot that offered so much beauty through the water, white sand and homes that were spread throughout.  I would go back again in a heartbeat, for sure.  Joel and Lauren had a rather picturesque day as you will soon see.  The only hindrance was the cooler temperatures/wind that came in just before the ceremony...that we could've all done without, lol. ;)  Other than that, I would say their day was perfect.

There is so much beauty found between a couple in love.  I am always amazed at how God can bring two individuals together that will result in a life spent together.  Lauren and Joel have a unique story with how they met, but the one detail that leaves me in awe is this...Joel's parents are missionaries in Africa.  Lauren's family housed missionary families, while on furlow, when she was growing up.  Come to find out, Lauren's family has been praying for Joel's family for years...long before they ever knew of each other.  I know that story will be shared for generations to come-love it!

I have to say a big thank you to my best friend, Shelly, who joined me for this adventure.  We have many stories of this trip that will be long remembered.  She was a compliment to the documentation of their wedding day and I appreciate her willingness to join me.  Jeremy and I have shot for many years now, and I have only documented one other wedding solo from him.  So, to have had someone there that can understand my craziness and go with it (in addition to Jeremy) was a blessing.  Thanks friend!

This interesting piece washed to shore...made for some fun photos.

I, obviously, had a hard time narrowing down the photos of the two of them.  Lauren...you were stunning!!!  They had a very small wedding party and guest list which gave us some fun time with the two of them.

Like I mentioned before, it was windy...and, I mean brutally windy.  Immediately after the ceremony they ran into the tent (that was set up as a wind block)...captured just a few photos before heading out.

Lauren and Joel had a very small dinner reception following the ceremony.  Soon after dinner they headed off to New Orleans to leave for their honeymoon...such a beautiful day.

Their beautiful, little beach wedding will be hitting the blog next, so I thought I better get their engagement photos up first. ;)  We hit a jackpot of color at the end of their session.  Lauren was hoping for some color (that was long gone, really, by this point in the season), and amazingly enough we found the perfect kind in the most random place.  Random is good...especially when it brings what you will see below.

Oh, how we love Jeff and Heather.  We had so much fun at their wedding day in 2008, and since then, they have become very dear friends of ours.  We've been able to get together with them several times over the past number of years from Cubs games to weddings to the new addition of Harry.  You have already seen them on our blog several times over the past year:  HERE and HERE. 

Well, they are back and last fall marked the milestone for little Harry's 6 month session  We embraced those beautiful fall temps and had a wonderful time.  It's hard to believe he will be one soon.  From their wedding to the present day...time continues to fly.  Much love and hugs to the 3 of you!

So many of our portrait clients were, first, our wedding clients.  I have mentioned that several times on here and thought it might be fun to relive the past a bit.  Mark and Jess got married in August of 2008.  They had such an amazing day...still remember it as though it were yesterday. :)  Well, after living in Atlanta for several years, they decided to move back to Indiana just before their little man was born.  I am so glad they are back and loved getting to know Owen last fall.  I look forward to seeing them again soon.  Hugs to the 3 of you!

]]> http://carpenterphoto.com/blog/2012/01/hufford-family-1.html http://carpenterphoto.com/blog/2012/01/hufford-family-1.html family Fri, 27 Jan 2012 07:39:24 -0700 It is hard for me to believe that this senior will be graduating soon.  I remember the day his mom and dad found out they were expecting him.  I remember going to the hospital to await his arrival.  I remember when he couldn't pronounce my name so he started calling me Aunt Meme-the name stuck and the whole family started calling me that. ;)  I remember having him and his older sister ride in my car (without carseats ;) time and time again.  I remember when he asked me what it meant for Jesus to live in his heart and that he wanted that.  I remember baby-sitting him and his sister every summer for several years.  I remember when he was the ring bearer for our wedding.  As you can see, I could go on and on.  I am a proud aunt to all of our nieces and nephews...in case you couldn't tell. :)

Well, here we are to the present day and I am honored to see the man this little boy has become.  He is God-fearing and has been a true role model among his peers.  He is also quite the athlete and musician.  Curtis will be going to Kentucky Christian University in the fall to play football.  I look forward to seeing where God takes him in this journey of life.  Keep dreaming and believing, Curtis...proud of you.

As for Brenna and Craig, they made my job super easy...and they are sweet as can be!!  Brenna had a lot of ideas she wanted to incorporate into her session (thanks to Pinterest ;) and we accomplished all of them.  They also included their sweet pups and had a great time just being together.  We are looking forward to celebrating with them this summer.  I'm sure the details will be out of this world. :)

I still have quite a few sessions to share with you for 2011 (where has the time gone!). So, I will start with the Foster family. They are dear friends of ours and I really wish they still lived in good 'ole Indiana, but they have recently moved to the beautiful state of Idaho and are loving every minute of it.  Chris is the owner of fosterweld and was able to continue his work out there.  We are so thankful for their friendship and hope to make our way out there soon.  Much love, my friends...

We shot Katy's sister's wedding a few years back and we couldn't help but fall in love with their family back then.  Kristen, her sister, sent me a text immediately after Katy and Jake's proposal to let me know they were engaged and would be contacting me soon to discuss date options. Love it! :) So, we're not only excited to capture them, but to celebrate them with their family and friends.  Can't wait!  Much love to you guys!
